WHAT
The next immersive reading tool:
SOUNTEX is a device that can be attached to books to enable reading and listening simultaneously in real time.
Context: Audiobooks offer numerous advantages over physical books, such as portability, allowing easy listening while commuting, exercising, or doing household chores. However, for some, the tactile experience of reading a physical book remains irreplaceable. The touch of the paper, the weight of the book, and even the smell of the pages create a sensory engagement that adds depth to the reading experience. This project explores how we can combine the benefits of audiobooks with the tangible essence of physical reading.
HOW
It's called Immersion Reading and that's what it does: immerse you in a story by scanning and narrating the text as you read (audio narration). By integrating bone conduction technology and tactile vibrations, it bridges the gap between auditory and physical sensations, offering a multi-sensory engagement that enhances the way we perceive and interact with media
WHY
It sparks an extra connection that boosts engagement, comprehension, and retention, taking you deeper into the book.
It highlights the beauty of turning subtle vibrations into sound, drawing attention to the micro-motions and physical interfaces often overlooked in our digital-driven world. This innovation celebrates the intersection of technology, design, and human connection.
